FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)
do you provide a hair styling and makeup service?
I most certainly do! For groups of five or more, I will more than likely hire one of my assistants, because it is more time efficient, as Nikita and her assistant can work on two people at the same time. Nikita will always complete the bride's full makeup & hair if you choose to hire her for your bridal party's full make over.
do I need to book a trial?
Trials are a great idea for anyone who isn't 100% sure what they're after and want a professional opinion, or who want to trial a few looks to make sure that it coincides with the overall theme of their wedding, and their personal style.
Some clients' wish to hold their trial from 2 months to 6 weeks out from your wedding, as their skin tone will be similar to that of their wedding day, plus they'll be able to see how the makeup or hair style lasts in the weather conditions that will be similar to that of their wedding day.
Some brides book their trials anywhere from 18 months to 3 days before their wedding. I become booked up quite quickly, so sometimes leaving your trial too late will either mean missing out on one all together, or having it done at a potentially inconvenient time.
I generally hold trials on select Sundays throughout the year, however other dates can be arranged if necessary, and is obviously subject to my availability. Trials are held in a room in Bowral, postcode 2576, with 3 - 4 allotted time slots for clients per day.
what products do you use?
I use a range of great quality brands that I have trialed over the years, and grown to love.
In my makeup kit I use Make Up Store, Palladio, Gorgeous Cosmetics, Anastasia Beverly Hills & more.
In my hair kit I use Fanola, White Sands, BaByliss, Silver Bullet, Sebastian Professional, Wella & more.
how much do you charge?
My rates vary depending on the job; how many clients are involved; the travelling distance & sometimes the time involved. Make sure that when you contact me, you include the date of your event, how many people are needing makeup & / or hair styling, what time you need to be finished by, what time your service begins & of course the location that I will be doing your makeup & / or hair at so that I can provide you with an accurate, personalised & itemised quotation.

how long do we need to get ready on the day?
I need approximately 50 minutes per person for makeup application, and from 30-90 minutes per person for hair styling, depending on the style. This is just a guide, and I don't usually need to take all of this time to complete each person, but having that extra time provides both the client and myself grace, peace of mind, and more time to apply the finishing touches.
If you would like a better understanding of how long your styling may take, please send me an email with a detailed description as well as some images of the desired styles, so that I can provide a more accurate idea.
where are you based?
I am based in the beautiful Southern Highlands, 1 hour south of Sydney, 20 minutes north of Bowral & 45 minutes inland from Wollongong. I am purely a mobile business until further notice. I travel all over Southern Highlands, into the Macarthur, Illawarra, Shoalhaven & Sydney Metropolitan regions, as well as Canberra. I also travel interstate and overseas if travel expenses are covered.
will I need to touch up my makeup?
Your foundation and eye makeup is applied to ensure maximum wear, and it will last hours on end without a touch up.
If your skin is prone to oiliness, I recommend a compact powder or blotting paper.
You may need to touch up your lipstick or lip-gloss from all that kissing, talking, laughing, eating and drinking. I do offer long lasting lipsticks and lip-stains for an additional price, and can be purchased for anyone in the bridal party, not just the bride.
It is a good idea to allocate one of your bridesmaids as your 'makeup attendant'. She will check your makeup before the photos and keep an eye on you throughout the evening to ensure you look your best for photographs.
I can also supply an optional 'touch-up' kit which may include essentials such as blotting paper, compact powder and lipstick. We can discuss this at the trial, and if it seems like a good idea to you, I will send you a list of the products for you to purchase.
One of my most recent brides had her makeup last until 4:00 am the following morning, just to give you an idea of just how well the makeup I use, lasts. (Not that I recommend leaving your makeup on overnight - please always go to bed with a clean and fresh face, so that your skin has time to rejuvenate, so that it can breathe, and so that it doesn't clog up!)
do you offer gift certificates?
A gift certificate is a wonderful idea and most women love the idea of being pampered. I arrange personal gift certificates of any amount, that can either be emailed as a PDF for printing, or sent to you or your loved one through the post.
